Sew a Jelly Roll with me and AccuQuilt!

Have you heard of National Sew a Jelly Roll Day? It is organized by Project Jelly Roll. The third Saturday in September is designated for us to open up one of our precious Moda Jelly Rolls and make something fabulous.

This year I explored making my own pre-cut collection using my AccuQuilt Go! and my 2 1/2″ strip die, and I have come up with a lovely project for you to try out. This is my Diamond Braid Table Runner.

This is a quick and fun project, but so striking with the right fabrics. Of course, when I want stunning fabric, I pull out my Island Batik stash. This time I went with a sunset palette.

Here is my pull, with some Aurifil thread possibilities. I ended up going with Wisteria again, which is one of my favorites.

Have you tried these Clover Fork Pins yet? A friend at work suggested them to me, and I tried them for the first time on this project. They are little miracle workers. Zoom in and look at my points. Unbelievable.

It finishes at 12″ x 46″. Want the full tutorial? Head over to the AccuQuilt blog.

Enjoy Sew a Jelly Roll Day! I hope you get a few hours with your sewing machine today.

As always, if you make one, tag me on social media. I’m @jenstrauser on Instagram, and I love seeing what people make with my tutorials.

The fabric, thread, batting, and die cutter I used in this project were given to me as part of my Island Batik Ambassador program. Thank you to Island Batik, Aurifil, and AccuQuilt for supporting my creativity.

Some of the links I use are affiliate links. If you use them to make a purchase, I make a small commission. Thank you!

  1. Oh, love the color pallet! Well done. I’m so excited to use these pins in my next piecing project. Haven’t had a chance yet.

  2. I need to try those fork pins again; my first try didn’t work very well. I think I was too impatient 🙂 Cute runner! We’ll see if I sneak in some jelly roll sewing. We are heading out of town this weekend, so I might not get it in.
