Remember the Turn of the Century Quilt I put together to show off Andover Fabric’s full collection of Century Solids? Well, the pattern is now available on their website! It is totally free to download. You can go get yourself a copy of Turn of the Century here. I’m so excited that it is available – I can’t wait to see people make their own versions of it. I might make another myself, since Andover owns the first one I made. It’s a good thing I asked for extra fabric when we negotiated compensation.
I did take a look at the instructions, and they are a little different than the techniques I used. I may go ahead and do a sew along in the new year, if there is enough interest. That way I can guide people through my construction process, which I prefer to the one Andover uses. I’m not excited about using appliqué on large circles when I can piece them quite successfully.
The majority of this quilt is made using foundation paper piecing. It is a fantastic technique for precise piecing, although I have designed this pattern to be a little bit forgiving.
Thanks, Andover, for working with me on this project! I love seeing photos of the quilt in the booth at different shows. It is always nice to see my work getting love.
Want to read about how this project came together?
Let me know if you are interested in a sew along. I think this might be a wonderful project to tackle this winter.
What a beautiful quilt!!
Thank you! I’m really proud of this one.
This would totally be a fun sew along. Thanks
I would love a sew along on that quilt. It looks like fun!
