I know, I’m a little bit early in the season to be playing with pumpkins. I actually made this quilt quite a while ago. I liked it so much, I decided to submit it to a magazine to be published. It took a while to find it a home, but I am happy to announce that it is live in The Quilt Pattern Magazine this month!
The Quilt Pattern Magazine is an online publication and community for avid quilters. They have been great to work with, and I am so pleased that they are sharing my pattern. For a limited time, my readers can get a special price for an annual subscription! Click on the button below, and enter secret code DQ.
This project is another experiment with the cathedral windows technique, much like my Windows to My Heart pattern. No curves were pieced in the making of this quilt. I just love the way the pumpkins turned out. I simply cannot get enough of quilts with dimensional details. The fabrics are all from my stash, except for the orange Grunge, which I picked up at Gotham Quilts.
The stems are the best part. My friend Jackie collects wool sweaters and makes fingerless gloves and other beautiful things with them. I asked for a few sweater scraps, and I got a gallon sized bag full of green and brown scraps in return. Quilty friends are the best! Ribbed sleeves are the best for pumpkin stems.
I’m so thrilled to have another pattern published, and I hope you are tempted to sign up for The Quilt Pattern Magazine. They were so much fun to work with! They test all of the patterns, too, so there should be a few more versions of my pattern to look at on their website.
Lovely pattern, love your use of the cathedral window.
Thank you, Barbara!
Congratulations on publishing that pattern! It is terrific and I love the wool stems.
Thanks!
