100 Days 100 Blocks 2018 # 1-10

I’ve started another long-term project.  I jumped on the bandwagon and am making another Tula Pink City Sampler * quilt.  It is part of a challenge being hosted by Angie at Gnome Angel to sew 100 quilt blocks in 100 days.  Each day we need to post our completed block on Instagram.

This year I will be making my quilt with scraps from my Island Batik stash.  Many of my fellow ambassadors are de-stashing their scraps – hosting giveaways on their blogs.  I like that idea, but I am making a scrappy sampler quilt instead.

Here are my first ten blocks.

I’m enjoying looking for motifs to fussy cut for the larger section.  Some of the combinations of fabrics give rather surprising results.  It is a fun project.  I can’t believe I skipped it in 2017.

There is still a batch of 100 blocks from 2016 lurking in my studio.  I should pull it out and finish it off.

  1. These are great and a great way to use up those scraps. I haven’t decided on my giveaway yet, but something will come to mind! I am getting so tempted by your gorgeous blocks (who knows maybe they will fit into one of the challenges).

    1. Thanks, Kathleen! It is really fun to make a composition out of each block, and the Island Batik is just so pretty.
