Hello, Friends! I had some stuff come up that took the wind out of my sails for a few days, and I neglected the My NYC Panel blog hop. My apologies. Luckily, all of my maker friends did their part, and I’m here today to share all of the beautiful projects made using the My NYC Pillow Panel from Gotham Quilts.
Be sure to click on the links and visit their web pages. Most of us have instructions for how to make your own version of our projects.
First off, Mom kicked it off with her pizza rat apron. There have been discussions about aprons with buildings, too. Time constraints, and a full drawer full of aprons that never get used have slowed us down a bit. Also, she is making quilts for everyone she knows, so is quite busy.
I used two coffee cups to make a cute cross body bag. The shape was super easy to work with. Next I want to make a taxi fanny pack. Again, time is my enemy.
Swan Amity Studios
Swan made this amazing table runner. I’m totally crushing on it. Her quilting is incredible! And the hand painted apple!
Lovingly, Lissa
Lissa made some fantastic tote bags, and I love the fancy pizza rat version. I love that her son needed a pizza rat pillow so much that he snagged one of her panels and made one. I love hearing about kids who love to sew.
The Darling Dogwood
Emily embellished t-shirts for her son with the taxi cab and the Statue of Liberty. Amazing! He needed a pizza rat pillow, too! And I insist that you go over to her blog and swoon over his cute little face. OMG. I miss having my little boys running around the house. Now I hear about inconsistencies in manga plots or statistical anomalies I don’t understand. (Warn your daughters – when two nerds have children, they make mega-nerds.)
Fish Museum & Circus
Deborah Fisher, of Fish Museum and Circus made this amazing bucket out of the coffee cups. I am in awe. She thinks in 3-d, which is amazing.
CDM365 Studios
Siobhan made the cutest wine bottle holder I have ever seen. I wonder if I know anyone who lives in NYC and enjoys wine.
Geometry and Joy
Autumn made an epic set of NYC hot pads. I’m hosting thanksgiving this year and considering a pizza rat hot pad to match the apron. My guests don’t really get my sense of humor most of the time, though.
Slice of Pi Quilts
Laura is my creative hero, and she turned her panel into a foam puzzle. She had sent me an email in the middle of the night asking if she could cut the images up, and I had to wait almost a week to find out what she was up to. Brilliant, as always.

Such creative uses of the panel. I hope all is okay.
