Sew Good Blog Hop – Day 12

Well, friends, it’s come to the final day, day 12 of the amazing Sew Good Blog Hop. Thanks so much for coming along while this group of amazing makers shares all of the different things they have made using Sew Good Fabrics. Today I’m sharing one of my favorite projects – a Moravian Star. As soon as I saw the Boundless Binding Fabric I knew I’d be making another star using it.

Have you gotten the full scoop on Boundless Binding Fabric yet? I’m pretty sure I squealed when Deb showed it to me last year. If you cut it along the straight lines, you can fold it and decide if you want your binding to have a row of scallops or a row of polka dots. SO CLEVER!

My next colorful quilt will get bound with Boundless, but I want to see how it looks cut the other way- with all of this action showing.

Here is my Moravian star, made with the blue color-way.

I love using interesting striped fabric for the Moravian Stars. It allows me to fussy cut easily and make each face of the star look like a kaleidoscope.

I didn’t take a lot of in-progress shots for this one, but you can check out my previous Moravian Star posts for tips on how to make your own, but check out how nicely my glue stick matches the fabric! I cut my papers using my AccuQuilt EPP Qube. That made me so happy.

Make sure you pop over to Instagram today to check out the giveaway we are hosting there. 8 of our designers are teaming up to give away a great bundle of pdf patterns and other items, too! Look for this image.

If you haven’t visited all of the stops on the blog hop, now is the perfect time. I want to take a moment and thank all of the blog hop participants. This was the first one I have hosted, and I haven’t been a perfect host. Everyone has been very patient with my learning, and it has been lovely. Don’t worry – I’ve got notes to make the next one better.

Big thanks to Deborah Fisher for letting me run this for her. I knew it would be fun to do, and I’ve enjoyed putting my hard-won blogging knowledge and network to work for her. Also, thanks to Windham Fabrics for generously providing the fabric for all of the bloggers on the hop. I’ve worked with Windham in the past, and they have always been easy to work with. Also, I’ve been to their warehouse and wow, that was fun. I’ve saved the address in my GPS for future shenanigans.
