It’s happened again – Mister Domestic has invited me to be in another fabric release party! Playing along with such a positive maker truly is one of the most fun things you can do. No one has been more enthusiastic about my projects, not even my mom. (You know, we’re Connecticut Yankees.)
My fabric arrived this morning, and I couldn’t wait to tear into it! The new line is called Catch and Release, and it is by Art Gallery Fabrics, so you know if feels incredible.
For this party, Mister Domestic has decided to use a group of micro-influencers, or makers with fewer than 5,000 followers.
In the spirit of community building which Mister Domestic intended, here is the list of makers participating in the party. If I’ve left anyone out, just leave a comment and I will amend the post.

Check out this fabric – isn’t it adorable? I’ve decided to use someone else’s pattern on this project, because the perfect one already exists, and I’ve been waiting for my special invitation to get to making it.
Meet Sarah Elizabeth, from No Hats in the House. Her Folksy Fish pattern has been haunting my dreams for years. I didn’t realize it until I bought the pattern, but it is foundation paper piecing. Combine that with my newfound knowledge of freezer paper foundation piecing, and I’m one very excited quilter.
My freezer paper is cut and waiting to print. As soon as I finish off one more deadline piece, I can get to playing working immediately.
You can check out my first test fish here. I’ll be doing a button box dive, too, because my fish will all have eyes. (I’m like 75% sure I have one with two eyes, so at least one of my fish will have to be a flounder.) Of course, since this is a Mister Domestic project, I have an excellent photo shoot planned. Doesn’t everyone plan vacations around blog parties?
My blog party date isn’t until August 23rd. I’ll probably be sharing a few sneak peeks, as I have zero chill.
Do you have any patterns that tempt you? Share them! Maybe we will all be tempted.
That’s a great pattern for that fabric!
Hi Jen! Oooh-la-la, what fun. I can’t wait to see this progress, with sneak peeks, of course. And you will share some freezer paper details too, right?! I know I can find other blogs for details but I want to know how you’re doing it! I’m sure the photoshoot will feature Oscar – why wouldn’t it?! ~smile~ Roseanne P.S. Have fun playing – er, working.
Fun fabrics and loved the video to see it up close! Have fun with lake and with all the fish!
That’s a great pattern for this fabric! My fabric arrived today (happy dance!) and it does feel divine 🙂
