Quilts of Valor Blog Hop – Day 5

Today is the last day of the Quilts of Valor Blog Hop. It’s been wonderful to see so many quilts that are being made to honor our veterans. Thank you all so much for hopping along with us.

Be sure to check out the four Island Batik Ambassadors sharing their quilts today.

This week has been an exercise in me thanking everyone over and over. I am truly so grateful to everyone who participated, to Island Batik for sponsoring, and to all of the veterans who have sacrificed so much for our country.

The year to date total of quilts donated through Quilts of Valor is 13,311. I’m so pleased that we have been part of that effort. That is a lot of veterans who have been wrapped in our love.

I’m sitting here, listening to fireworks go off in my neighborhood, reflecting on a lovely day spent barbecuing with family. This lifestyle that we have been blessed with is truly wonderful. Several generations of my family fled persecution in other countries and found safety in America. Many of them took up arms to protect that safety and freedom once they found it. I hope that everyone in the world who strives for freedom and safety can find it.

If you want to make your own QOV, sign up for the giveaway for a 10″ Stack of Freedom fabric from Island Batik. Of course, you can do whatever you like with the fabric, but trust me, it is a really good feeling to see someone get one of these quilts.
