This month was a big month for Island Batik Ambassadors. Most of us have received our second box of goodies to finish off our year of challenges. Some of our international ambassadors have to wait for longer shipping times. I’m considering relocating to California, so I can be closer to the warehouse.
This box is every bit as exciting as the first. I recorded a video of my unboxing. It is unedited, and I did only one take.
Once again, my box is stuffed full of fabulous fabric from Island Batik, thread from Aurifil, and three battings from Hobbs. I’m a lucky quilter.
Can you believe all of these gorgeous fabrics?
I got a bundle of different neutrals. 1 yard each of solid white, black, and grey. They are the same texture as a batik, but solid. I’ve never seen these before. They are going to make my projects sparkle. There is also a 5 yard cut of almond. Last time I purchased 3 yards of whipped cream, and I am using up the leftover scraps now. This is a well-timed addition to my collection. (I’ve already cut into it for my September project!)
The next bundle is made up of 1 yard cuts of blenders. I love that so many of them are purples, and that red swirly dot thing is gorgeous.
I received three one yard cuts of these checks, from the “check it out” line. This line comes in a bunch of different colors – I’ve been checking out my fellow ambassadors, and there are so many other options! Again, I’m pleased that mine are all so purple.
Now for my favorites – the pre-cuts. This is a strip pack of All Aflutter, along with two two-yard cuts of coordinating fabrics. I already have a plan for this one. You will get to see it in October.
This is a 10″ stack of pre-cuts from the Paisley Dots collection. I’m seriously drooling over this one. I don’t know how long I can hold out from ripping into it. Not much longer, probably.
This 10″ stack is from the Lavender Sage collection. It is so gorgeous. I don’t know what I will use it for yet, but it will be phenomenal.
Also included were three battings from Hobbs: a queen sized cotton, a throw in Tuscan wool, and a throw in a Tuscan wool/cotton blend. I’m eager to try out the two wools. There was also a large spool of Aurifil in a cream color, and a pack of small spools in green, one of each of the thread varieties Aurifil produces. They will be getting a workout.
I did receive another bundle of fabric that I can’t reveal yet, so I haven’t even taken a photo of it. It’s amazing, and I’m excited to show it off in January. Until then, secret sewing is going on in my studio.
Finally, this is a sneak peak at my Island Batik stash. I found this awesome bucket at the recycling center (someone had trashed it!), and it fits my fabrics perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that I was able to just pick up the whole thing and bring it on the family road trip.

It’s been really fun to see the reveals from the IB Ambassadors I follow. You have some lovely, bright fabrics! Can’t wait to see what you create with them.
Oh my gosh, I am green with envy! What a great box of goodies!! How fun for you to be an “Ambassador” and get to receive such wonderful fabrics. Looking forward to seeing what your projects with them will be and what that “secret” box is all about! 🙂 Have fun.
Thanks! I have so many plans already!
I share your love for purple! It makes my heart 🎶.
