Kawandi at StitchFest, Lancaster

I’m getting so excited! My Kawandi style quilting classes at StitchFest in Lancaster, PA have been confirmed for August 4th & 5th. That means I will definitely be there! For the next few weeks I will be preparing kits, going over my presentation, and working up a written “pattern” to hand out to students.

There will be two sessions. On Friday, August 4th I will be teaching Kawandi Style Quilting by Machine for the first time. I’m looking forward to seeing how students respond to this technique. It’s so different from making Kawandi style pieces by hand, but so much fun.

On Saturday I will be teaching Kawandi Style Quilting by hand (I have taught this one many times). This class is fun and relaxing. There is something so nice about a room full of people sewing without the racket from machines. It makes me feel like we are having an old-timey quilting bee, but we are working on individual projects.

If you are in the area and don’t want to take a Kawandi class, check out the other quilting teachers. Bobbie Gentili is one of my favorites, and she has a great assortment of classes.

Cindy Lohbeck is amazing and hysterical. There are other teachers I’ve heard great things about, too, but these two are the only ones I’ve personally taken classes with.

If you are in the area and considering taking a class with me, or with any of the great instructors there, please sign up now! Quilting classes get canceled all the time due to lack of students, and I often hear from students that they were going to sign up, but waited. It is frustrating for everyone. Sign up for classes early so everyone can have fun.
