I am so excited to finally be able to share one of the big projects I’ve been working on for the past several weeks. I may have mentioned a time or two that I work with Gotham Quilts. My main job is to coordinate classes, and recently we decided it would be fun to host a lecture series. I adore listening to my favorite artists speak about their work, and I need more of it in my life. I’m proud to present Thread Talks with Gotham Quilts!
My reward for bringing this idea to the team was that I had to put it together. So, I’ve spent a few weeks working on a list of teachers I’ve heard and loved, and teachers Ivete and Andrea have heard and loved. Then I reached out to a few at a time, filling in my calendar. It’s been a bigger project than I expected, and we launched two weeks early. But, I’m so thrilled with the line-up I’ve booked so far. I have two more openings for our first season.
Before I do all of my name dropping, here are the details.
- All talks will be presented live in our Gotham Quilts Community, which is free to join.
- Talks are scheduled for the first Wednesday of each month at 8pm eastern time.
- Each individual talk is $25, unless you are a Club Gotham member.
- Club Gotham Members can attend all of the talks for free.
- Membership costs $125 and includes free shipping on orders over $35, and 10% off fabrics, and other benefits
- You must register for a seat, even if you are a Club Gotham member.
- Talks will not be recorded – you must watch live.

OMG. I’m fan-girling all over the place here, again. I have heard talks from or taken classes with so many of these people, and they are an amazing crew. The topics range from how to use color, modern quilting, embroidery, all the way to tips for organizing a craft space.
I love listening to presentations like these online while I’m stitching. It always feels like the best kind of self care – I close the door or put on my headphones, pick a handwork project, and get great inspirations.
