I have a new project up on the AccuQuilt Blog today! (If you are visiting me from the AccuQuilt blog, Welcome!) I have been working on Rainbow Road since February this year. That’s right – seven months from my concept being created to it being live on the AccuQuilt website. I’m so excited to be able to share my quilt – Rainbow Road with you today!
This quilt uses the Road to Fortune die from AccuQuilt. Road to Fortune is a BOB die, which means that all of the pieces for this 9″ finished block are able to be cut with one pass through the cutter, if used as intended. Of course, my patterns use extra colors, so it is slightly more work to cut the pieces. You will only need the Road to Fortune die for this quilt, though, and the 2 1/2″ strip cutter for binding.
Here is the quilt – it is so pretty! It’s small, though, as the blocks are only 9″ finished. I used Peppered Cottons for this quilt, and since it is an actual pattern with AccuQuilt, I had to send it to them. (Part of designing a quilt for them involves them buying the original). It is always a bittersweet day when I ship a quilt off to a forever home. You can see Pam and Erica from AccuQuilt exclaiming over the quilt on their release party video. (The next quilt they show is mine, too!) Rainbow Road shows up at 44:30 in the video.
Fabrics for this quilt were provided to me by Studio E, as part of my job as a Brand Ambassador for Peppered Cottons. I love everything about Peppered Cottons, but the texture is my absolute favorite. They feel so good in my hand while working, and also in the finished quilt.
You can download the Rainbow Road pattern for free from AccuQuilt. They do require you to be registered on their website, but it is so worth it. They have loads of patterns available. The blog post has lots of tips and tricks that I used to make my points come out crisp, and to not lose my mind while keeping all of the pieces organized.
