Remember my Adirondack chair project, back in the summer of 2019? As part of the Metuchen Downtown Alliance’s Language project, I created an upholstered Adirondack chair using images of public art around town. It was loads of fun – you can read the details of that project here.
The Metuchen Downtown Alliance has just released a documentary all about their public art program. Last summer, during the pandemic, I was interviewed along with another chair artist as part of the program. It’s a lovely video, and makes me a little nostalgic for that community.
If you have a short attention span, like I do, you can find me around minute 9, although I do recommend watching the whole video. It really is a lovely little town. Their art program is really remarkable. I’ve lived in a lot of different places, and not many small towns have a team as devoted to bringing the arts into our lives.
Thanks for sharing this, Jen. Fun to see and hear you in the interview! The chair still looks great!
Thanks, Wendy!
Hi Jen, Thanks for a sweet getaway through Metuchen, loved it!
