I’ve had some great quilts entrusted to me for custom quilting. I love that my job is to make other people’s quilts even more beautiful.
MaryAnn was one of my first clients. Even though she moved out of town, she still sends quilts to me for finishing.
I used a combination of continuous curves in the blocks, and a fancy swirl in the open areas. The border pattern is a modified piano key – one of my favorite border treatments.
Mark makes quilts with amazing precision. I always feel a little sad that my job is to hide the real magic of his quilts. His seams are just so precise. Don’t get me wrong, the fronts of his quilts are amazing, but I am so anal retentive that I really love the craftsmanship.
For this I combined ruler work, feathers, and continuous curves.
It is easier to see the quilting on the back. I hope he likes it!
Thanks for reading! If you are interested in having me work on your quilt, drop me a line.
Wonderful work – but I think of it as enhancing the work, not hiding it! You have made them more beautiful with your work.
You do wonderful work, I just wish you weren’t on the other side of the country (shipping costs).
Beautiful. I’d be very tempted to hand you a few things if I was on the right continent.
Seriously. You Aussies have such a vibrant quilt scene, but the postal costs discourage collaboration.
Wow, so beautiful, Jen! Well done!!!
