I’ve slowed down a bit on my Quilts of Valor work this year. I’m very busy with my quilting business, and it is hard to find time for all of my volunteering. I’m hoping that will change soon, but more on that later.
Sometimes after I finish a Quilt of Valor, I am lucky enough to see it with it’s recipient. Anne, my local coordinator, does a great job of keeping us informed. This time she sent me a picture of our veteran with his quilt, and I was given permission to share his photo.
I’m so glad to see these photos every time Anne is able to get one. It means so much more to me when I see the proud veteran wrapped in our gift.
This quilt was pieced by Libby at Rebecca’s Reel Quilt Guild. She made a stunning piece with simple piecing and color placement.
Hi Jennifer,
It is always so nice to see quilts we have had a hand in with its final recipient. So nice and thanks for sharing! ~smile~ Roseanne
How awesome that you get photos of the quilts and recipients together on occasion. It certainly melts my heart. Thanks for sharing and creating Quilts of Valor!
You must be so proud to see the recipient of your beautiful quilt! That is such a wonderful thing you do!
You and I are on a similar wavelength this morning with our rush we get from seeing our quilts in use! 🙂
I think it’s wonderful you get a picture with your beautiful quilt and one of our wonderful veterans! So beautiful! Thank you for helping others. Have a great day.
A beautiful quilt for a life of service. Thanks for sharing the photo. Some of the best days are the presentation days.
It’s so great that you can see the vet with your quilt! I have making a Quilt of Valor on my quilty bucket list.
I have yet to piece an entire top for them. I’ve turned in a couple of block sets, but mostly I just do the quilting. It’s nice to be part of a team.
