Ahhh! I applied for this last year, and hadn’t heard anything. I assumed I didn’t make the cut, but I was wrong! I was totally blindsided yesterday when I got the email letting me know I was selected. I’m so excited.
Batiks have been my favorite fabrics since I started quilting. The saturated colors and differences across the yardage are so much fun to play with.
I don’t have any info to share yet, but you know I will share as soon as I get it. Last year it looks like there were two blog hops and several challenges. I just can’t wait to see what fun is in store for me this year.
The moral of this story is apply for fun stuff when you hear about it. You never know what you might be chosen for.
Maybe we should make the Jen Kingwell Baker’s Dozen Quilt in all batiks, somewhat like we did last year with Long Time Gone. I have a buttload of beautiful batiks to use and you could do fabulous tutorials for each block. I think they’re all pieced. I’d play along. Maybe it would force me to blog, even! I haven’t been blogging much, and I’d volunteer to run it, but 1) dayjob and 2) dayjob dayjob, so I fear I wouldn’t be able to do it justice a la GnomeAngel.
Temptation, thy name is Cate. I’ll look at it, but I fear my plate may be ever so slightly overloaded.
Congrats on being selected! Can’t wait to see all the fun stuff you design with those gorgeous fabrics this year!
Thanks, Tish! I can’t wait to get a package.
Well done you
Thanks!
