I’m so excited to share the next step in my quilting journey with you. Starting next week, I will be longarm quilting with Gotham Quilts, in New York City. Their new street level store front is located at 40 W 37th Street in Manhattan.
To begin, I will be at their Grand Opening on Sunday, November 19th from 11 AM – 4 PM. I will be demonstrating (and learning to use) their longarm machine. They have an APQS Lenni, which is different from my Gammill Classic Plus. I’ll let you know how different they are next week.
The Grand Opening is to celebrate their relocation from a sixth floor location to a much larger street level shop. It is going to be so much fun. They will have door prize giveaways every half hour, a great sale of 10% – 25% off of almost everything, and they will be releasing their new class schedule.
If you are in the area, come by and say hello. Bring a tote bag, because they have a great selection of modern fabrics. I may or may not have my eye on some of the fantastic new Diving Board line from Alison Glass.
Sunday will be the start of what I hope is a long partnership. I’ll be spending Fridays at Gotham Quilts longarming for their customers. I’m thrilled, nervous, excited, worried, and a lot of other feelings, too. I’m so glad I decided to take a class there before “date night” all those months ago!
*The Grand Opening will also be going on Saturday. They are also celebrating their new status as a Bernina dealer. They are even giving away a Bernette! You can check out the details of this event here. I’m tempted to go in on Saturday, too, but I don’t think I could handle being out of the house both days on the weekend.
I hope you enjoy your time and I look forward to hearing about it. <3 🙂
How exciting. Hope you have a wonderful time.
Congratulations! Sounds like fun. You should definitely take some Diving Board home with you. 🙂
Thanks! And I’m fairly certain I will be shopping. My husband asks that you all cross your fingers that I will be too busy to shop.
Congratulations! The grand (re) opening sounds great–have fun!
Thanks! I am sure I will.
