My favorite supplies

I get asked what supplies I’m using often. I’ll be adding to this list as I discover new “favorite things”. If there is anything you have seen me using, but I don’t give you a link, just shoot me an email and I’ll add it here. I do a lot of things and have a short attention span, so I’ll forget this page is here about 12 seconds after I hit publish.

Many (hopefully all) of these are affiliate links. This means I earn a commission if you make a purchase after clicking my link. Thank you for supporting my creativity!

Kawandi tools

Thimble ring – Dandelion fidget spinner ring from Boho Magic. Others in their collection will work – just look for ones with divots that will secure the end of your needle.

Lower budget thimble option – Clover’s leather thimble. Great to get started. They work well, until they wear out. I used these happily for years until I found the one I listed above.

Needle gripper – Clover rubber thimble. Finger cots or the rubber finger tips from the office supply store also work. Silicon ones do not work for me.

Needles – Sue Spargo’s Milliners #3.

Batting – Hobbs Silk or Hobbs Cotton Wool

Scissors – Perfect Scissors by Karen Kay Buckley

Fabric shops (not affiliate links)

Specific fabrics are almost impossible to share over time. A few things are basics, and can be reordered by shops, like Essex Linen, but other lines come and go very quickly. My best advice is to touch all of the fabrics, and buy the ones that feel good. Buy them as soon as you see them, because the industry moves very quickly, and often you won’t get a second chance at it. And yes, when something makes my heart sing, I buy a bolt.

Gotham Quilts (I work for them). Look for Artisan cottons, Space Dyes, and Essex Linen blend

Hangin’ by a Thread – New to me local shop, I’m loving the owner, and I’ve taught there. Amanda carries ALL THE COLORS OF KAFFE SHOT COTTON.

Cottoneer – great selection

Sewing Arts – OMG, incredible selection of yarn dyes.
