Making Zen 2025

I am beyond thrilled to announce that Making Zen is back for 2025, and I’m teaching again this year! I’ve put together a 1/2 hour (ish) video on my process for making my mini landscape sketches. I called it Mini Landscapes in Fabric and Thread.

Making Zen 2025 is a 5 day event that includes 32 different teachers leading online workshops. Each workshop is around 30 minutes and teaches a technique or project. The summit is free to attend, although you will be encouraged to purchase the “extended access” package. That gives you longer access to the classes. You will have to check the website to see how long access lasts, but I think maybe until August. (I could be remembering this incorrectly, so please double check before you spend your money.)

I’ve had so many folks ask me how I make my mini landscapes, and when I’m teaching a class on it. I finally have an answer! Now.

In my class I walk you through my preferred materials, my planning stages, and how I stitch my piece together. In my bonus offering, I show you how to take your mini landscapes and transform them into a stitch book.

Not too excited about my offering? I get it. My weirdness isn’t for everyone, although you are reading my blog, so you’re at least a little curious. Andrea Tsang Jackson will be teaching, too. I love her stuff so much, and I can’t wait to treat myself to some quiet time with her class. Blair Stocker is back, too. Will this be the year that my gingham finally gets chicken scratch embroidery added? We shall see.

Okay. I’ve got to go and finish putting my bonus video together. Because it’s due today. So much is going on here, but I’m keeping it all together, because I have an amazing support system of friends and family.

Questions? Feel free to drop them here in the comments.

Thanks so much to Kate Ward, who runs Making Zen. Without her reaching out I would still be thinking about how best to put this class together, rather than trying to launch it. Last year I did my Intro to Kawandi Style Quilting workshop. It really changed the trajectory of my teaching career. Let’s see what happens next!
