My year long embroidery class is kicking off a new session in September! Usually we start a session of Creative Hand Stitching Journey each January, but by popular demand, we have decided to open up a new session next month. Of course, signups close on August 18th (marketing is not my favorite.) So, if you are curious, now is the time to join.
What is the Creative Hand Stitching Journey?
Each month for one year we explore a group of stitches from Sue Spargo’s Creative Stitching book. We explore different threads, learn about needles, and socialize! The monthly show and tell is my favorite – I finally have a group of people who get as excited as I do when I discover a new stitch and just HAVE to show it off to someone.
What comes with the Journey?
If you head over to the Gotham Quilts website, you will see the ordering options. The book is required, and we also have a set of needles and a curated threads bundle. You can get whichever options you need to make your year a success.
Once you are in the journey, you will have access to on-demand stitch tutorial videos, the feed where you can share between meetings and get feedback from fellow students. You will also be able to attend the monthly live session, which will be happening at 7pm eastern time, on the fourth Thursday of the month. Our first meeting is September 25th. Meetings are recorded and posted on the group for those who can’t attend live.
Is there a project?
There is a project in the journey, but making it is not required. It is there because I think it is a fun one to make. The project is a stitch sampler book – the perfect reference tool for future exploration of stitches.
Each month there are page layout suggestions. I also have the pattern for the fancy cover I made, a running stitch sampler, and an embroidered alphabet pattern.
Are you ready to join me on a Creative Hand Stitching Journey? Check out this killer promotional video I made. (Lol. I’m trying!)
Questions? Just let me know. This is one of my very favorite classes – I was hesitant when we first started, but now I’m really enjoying spending an entire year with a group and getting to know them well. I would love to have you join me.
