Here it is! My Glowing Flowering Snowball block combined with some units from the 8″ Qube and 8″ Qube Companion Angles to make a beautiful Christmas Flowers Quilt with AccuQuilt dies.
Isn’t it fun! I’m planning to hand quilt it this month, then hang it on the wall for Christmas. Or maybe I’ll hang it now, then quilt it after Christmas. either way, it’s going to be a focal point of my living space for a while.
Can you believe that none of this fabric is “Christmas” fabric? I just put together a grouping from the basics wall at Cate’s Sew Modern when I was visiting recently.
You can find the tutorial on the AccuQuilt website. It includes cutting and construction instructions and close-ups.
I’m so intrigued by the combination of straight piecing with curved piecing. It makes such interesting shapes.
It’s hard to see the flange on this version, which is a little frustrating. In person it shows up much more, but it is still pretty subtle.
Want to see my technique for inserting the flange into the Flowering Snowball block? I shared about it in an earlier post.
I hope you are preparing to have a lovely holiday season, whichever holidays you celebrate. My family celebrates Christmas, but as a time for family gathering more than any religious significance. Since we will be celebrating in Florida this year, I expect to make quite a few new decorations with my AccuQuilt system. I’ve smuggled down quite a few dies, and I’ll start my felt ornament making soon.
