I’ve got big news for 2022 – I have accepted a role as a brand ambassador for the Blank Quilting Corporation! Starting this month, I will be working with a new fabric collection and making something special every other month. Since Blank Quilting is part of the Jaftex Corporation, from time to time I may also get to work with other brands, like Henry Glass, Studio E, or maybe even FreeSpirit.
I was so excited to see the applications open up. I’ve met the president of Jaftex, Scott Fortunoff, a few times while working at Gotham Quilts, and he is such a generous person. (Funny, too, with the Dad Jokes). I have been hoping to have the opportunity to work with him.
Okay. Here’s the part you really want – my first collection for 2022. In January I’ll be working with Pink Paradise, by Jane Shasky for Henry Glass Fabrics. I was initially confused about getting Henry Glass fabric, but in this post-COVID world, the supply chain is king. So, even though I am officially assigned to Blank Quilting Corporation, I get to work with what they have in the warehouse. And really, could the timing of this collection be any better? I will be spending the entire month of February in the Florida Keys, where flamingos, flowers and butterflies are abundant. I’m already excited about the photography options.
This collection is so much fun! There is a big panel, perfect for getting a head start on a quilt. The panel measures 22″ x 44″. I bet this one will fly off of the shelves.
There is another panel with 6 different 10″ blocks, and a border print running on both sides.
There is also a really cool border print.
The rest of the collection is a.vibrant celebration of the tropics, along with one soothing text print all about relaxing on vacation. Can you believe that they sent me a yard of each print? This is so much fabric.
Okay. I’ve got to go. EQ8 is calling my name – I need to start sketching!
My last flamingo project.
Ooh, I don’t know whether I’m more jealous of your being an ambassador, your fabrics or a MONTH in the Keys? (been there twice, love love) I will watch for when the applications open up in 2022; I guess I turned Scott’s head when I was chosen for the Desire to Inspire challenge way back in 2016… Can’t wait to see what you create. And even more, can’t wait to see the photo shoot!
Congratulations! I look forward to seeing your creativity put to work through this ambassador program this year. 🙂
Congratulations! Have fun creating.
Congratulations! So nice to have a themed fabric for your vacation – serendipity for sure.
Thanks, Kathleen!
Congratulations. Have fun in the sun.
