I received this very cool faux pocket watch from Solid Oak Online to try out. I found it to be very intriguing, and my son collects pocket watches. Christmas is always coming.
I didn’t have many ideas for how to use it when I asked for it, but when my package was shipped it included a note describing a previous tiny patchwork attempt. Challenge accepted!
Have you seen the #100days100blocks project I have been working on with my Island Batik fabrics? I’ve been generating a lot of tiny half square triangle scraps, and I hate parting with them. So, I put a few to good use.
I stitched them up and combined them into a quarter square triangle. I thought about turning it into a proper quilt, but the practical aspect of getting it under my needle at this scale stopped that plan.
I think we have reached maximum insanity levels here. I’m sure James will be beyond thrilled with my creation.
The Steampunk Watch Case was generously provided by Solid Oak Online.

Wow, that’s some amazing tiny stitch-work. Well done!!!
Hi Jen! Well that is the coolest thing I’ve seen in ages. I’ve never heard of a quilt in a pocket watch, but how darn fun. Nice job – and that is the kind of gift that is priceless. ~smile~ Roseanne
Hi Jen! That is the coolest thing I’ve seen in a long time. I’ve never heard of a pocket watch with a quilt inside. You did such a nice job! This kind of present is definitely one-of-a-kind and priceless. ~smile~ Roseanne
Clever idea! I have a collection of pocket watches that belonged to my dad and grandfathers. Cool.
I love this! What a fun little things to do…and yes, probably high up on the insanity scale.
