Sew Along Projects

This may surprise you, but I enjoy starting projects even more than I enjoy finishing them. In January I started two, to go along with the two I already planned on. I’m thinking about joining in on a few more, but not yet.

2019 Modern Half Square Triangle BOM

Steph Jacobsen is a fellow Island Batik Ambassador. I’m using my IB scraps for this project. The best part is that Steph gives directions that include AccuQuilt Go! die sizes. 16 half square triangle blocks in a month is so easy. I might even be able to keep this one up all year!

Scrappy Trip Along

This one is being hosted by Angie, at Gnome Angel. I have so many 2 1/2″ strips of fabric in my IB stash that are working perfectly in this pattern. This one is on a faster schedule, but I’m going to be doing it at my own pace. I’ve done one block so far. I’m planning to do at least one per month, more as I feel like it. Again, it is very quick.

The Quilter’s Planner

I love the pattern of the Block of the Month the designers at The Quilter’s Planner put together this year. I’m using my bundle of Quantum by Giucy Giuce for this one. Isn’t it glorious? I still have to decide on my background for this one.

Quiet Play Pattern Club

The last one I’ve signed up for is by Quiet Play. Every month I get three different foundation paper pieced patterns to play with – one word, one picture, and one old favorite. I love Kristy’s work and this one was too good to pass up. This will be the perfect way to use up my rainbow of scraps.

I still have a few sew alongs to wrap up in my UFO pile. I’ve been working on them at my guild sew-alongs. I hope to be able to show off my 2016 City Sampler project soon!

Don’t you just love sew alongs? I really enjoy seeing how one quilt looks when lots people make it at the same time. We all interpret things so differently! Are there any other good ones going on that I have to join?
