I had another shop sample to work on last week. It is for an octagonal table mat. Not really my thing, but fun to make.
This pattern is from Sweet Treasures, designed by Terri Staats.
It came together easily, although I did make a mistake as I added the rounds. It’s important to add the strips in the same direction each round. Apparently I put one of them on the other way. I don’t think it is a major mistake.
It was a little shocking working in Christmas fabrics. It did get some creative juices flowing, though.
I just love the backing fabric the shop gave me. It is a digital print from Hoffmann. I quilted this on my Gammill, with an all over meander. The fabric choices are so busy that I didn’t think the additional noise of elaborate quilting was required. I did a scrappy binding, of course.
