Snowflake Shimmer – Almost done

I had really wanted to have my quilt completed by the October 7th deadline, but alas, it is not to be.  I have done the majority of the background quilting.  I love how the echo quilting is making really interesting shapes.  I am a little disgruntled with how long it takes to wrestle this bad boy around with the walking foot.  The results are worth it, though.

Getting photos of large quilts is a real challenge.  I will be learning more about how to do that soon.
I am still not sure how I will quilt the darker blue section.  I don’t want to do the same echo as the grey, but I’m out of ideas for now.  The lighter blue squares will have a swirling square in them.  I’m sure there is a real name for the pattern, but I do not know it.  I’ll be giving my free motion ruler a try.  Wish me luck!
Final quilting and binding should be happening over the next week.  Please check out the other quilters who have been quilting along with QuiltingJetgirl.
Okay.  I’m off for now.  Marney designed a quilt block with Oscar in it, and insanity beckons.  Bye!
